B342 XHY, 'BRAIDEN JAMES'
1984-85 B-reg Foden S10 S106, S10 day-cabbed, 6x4, Arcade load-bodied Artic, This ex-Wincanton Transport tractive unit is powered by a Cummins LTA10-290, turbocharged and aftercooled, l0-litre, 6-cylinder, 290 brake horse power diesel engine, driving through a Fuller gearbox to a Leyland Constructor rear double drive bogie. This design of rear bogie started life in the Scammell Routeman 8x4 Lorry model and was regarded as the best in the business for off-road work. So much so that when the Routeman was replaced by the new Leyland Constructor Eight-Wheeler model in 1980 the rear bogie design continued unaltered in the new Constructor. BRAIDEN JAMES has been in service with Roger Tuby since 1990,originally hauling his Lucky Strike Arcade, but has been hauling Roger's HollywoodArcade since 1991.
