B Reg Foden, 'Braiden James'
1984-85 B-reg Foden S10 S106, S10 day-cabbed, 6x4, Arcade load-bodied
Artic, This ex-Wincanton Transport tractive unit is powered by
a Cummins LTA10-290, turbocharged and aftercooled, l0-litre, 6-cylinder,
290 brake horse power diesel engine, driving through a Fuller
gearbox to a Leyland Constructor rear double drive bogie. This
design of rear bogie started life in the Scammell Routeman 8x4
Lorry model and was regarded as the best in the business for off-road
work. So much so that when the Routeman was replaced by the new
Leyland Constructor Eight-Wheeler model in 1980 the rear bogie
design continued unaltered in the new Constructor. BRAIDEN JAMES
has been in service with Roger Tuby since 1990,originally hauling
his Lucky Strike Arcade, but has been hauling Roger's HollywoodArcade
since 1991.

G Reg Foden
1989-90
G-reg Foden 3000-SERIES S104, 4000-SERIES-cabbed,Boxvan-bodied,
short wheelbase, 4x2,Showmans Diesel Road Locomotive, G401. This is
an early 3000-Series model, thus it has the 4000-Series cab. Later
3000-Series models had, -from l992 -, their own narrower 3000-Series
cabs. This particular Foden was originally powered by a Cummins
C-Series diesel engine, but it was not powerful enough for Roger,
so he re-engined the Foden with a Cummins LT10-250 diesel in early
2000. The engine produces a healthy 250 BHP. The Foden has a Fuller
gearbox and a Rockwell rear drive axle. This lorry has been in service
with Roger Tuby since 1998 -it was originally a tractive unit -
and pulls his childrens ride.

K Reg Foden
1992 K-Reg Foden 4000-Series 4325 S106R4, 4000-Series Hi Line sleeper-cabbed, Boxvan-bodied, SWB, 6X4, Showmans Diesel Road Locomotive, Has a Cummins engine-the sound it makes is real music! This fairground lorry has a powerful winch. In 2006 it's Cummins electricity generator set was replaced by a more fuel efficient Volvo generator set. This Foden is the modern day equivalent of, and is just as charismatic as, our glorious yesteryears Foden, Fowler and Burrell Showmans Steam Road Locomotives and Scammell Pioneer, Explorer and Shotrac Showmans Diesel Road Locomotives, including other makes such as AEC, Alion, Autocar, Diamond T, ERF, Federal, Foden, FWD, Kenworth, Leyland, Mack and White. Some of these were converted from being petrol to diesel-engined.This Foden is also a magnificent and impressive example of fairground transport, which entered fun fair service in 2002 and pulls the Disco Fever Miami Ride (new in 2002), and is the flagship of Roger's superb Foden lorry fleet - in other words it's 'The Boss'. |
N Reg Foden
A favourite vehicle-type for showmans’ transport is the rigid eight-wheeler lorry, and one of the very best examples, is this 1995 Foden 4000-Series 4325 S108R4, 4000-Series Hi Line sleeper-cabbed, Boxvan-bodied, 8X4 double-drive Lorry. Its Cummins LTAA10-325 engine also powers this lorry’s winch, which is used for dragging the lorry or other lorries or trailers our of swampy fairground.
It entered the glitzy world of fun fairs and carnivals in 2005 it carries slot machines for the Hollywood Arcade, pulls living trailers and is painted in a metallic gold with black and silver relief. Gold is a traditional colour of the Tuby family along with maroon, blue and red. Nikon SLR Camera colour photographs of this beautiful Foden 4000-Series S108R4 Eight-Wheeler Lorry, 494 RRT, is by Robert Preston. |

This showmans lorry is a 1995 M-Reg Foden 4000-Series 4320 S106R4, 4000-Series Hi Line sleeper-cabbed, 6x4 Hollywood Arcade load-bodied Artic. It's powered by a Cummins N14-320 diesel engine. This Foden has been in Roger Tuby's service since 2002.
Apart from being lit up like Blackpool Illuminations, one of the other glamorous features of the Hollywood Arcade itself is that it's decorated with photographic-portraits of Hollywood film stars and movie actors such as Brad Pitt, Michael Douglas, Tommy Dorsey, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Leonardo Dicaprio, Scarlett Johansson, Elvis Presley, Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, etc - it would do The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) Photo Gallery proud. Not for nothing is this arcade named The Hollywood Arcade.
